Nach den guten vierten Platz im Vorjahr wurde der fünfte Platz 1986 erreicht. Gegen die ersten beiden Platzierten (Lok II und Borna) konnte nicht ein Punkt gewonnen werden. Die Saison verlief sehr durchwachsen. Der größte Erfolg war das überraschende 6:0 beim dritten Espenhain. Im Pokal konnte das Viertelfinale erreicht werden, das gegen den späteren Bezirkspokalsieger Chemie Böhlen II klar mit 1:4 verloren wurde.
