Industrie Leutzsch startete schlecht in die Saison 1949/50. Der erste Sieg gelang am sechsten Spieltag gegen Horch Planitz (3:0) schnell war am im Abstiegskampf wo man bis zum Schluß blieb. Zudem traten die Leutzscher beim Rückspiel in Planitz nicht an. Daraufhin wurde die Mannschaft für vier Wochen gesperrt so das die letzten drei Punktspiele nicht ausgetragen werden konnten. Im Sachsenpokal überstand man die ersten beiden Runden um dann an Lok Nossen zu scheitern. Nach der Saison wurde die Mannschaft unbenannt und spielte als BSG Stahl Nordwest Leipzig im Willi-Kühn-Sportpark in der Bezirksklasse Leipzig weiter.
